Great strings for the ocasional player
I used to play a lot more in my younger years, but after the rock star dream fade away I found myself with a 5 guitars that I need to keep at least in decent conditions. Since regular strings (I used Dean Markley for almost 15 years) don't hold corrosion too well, I opted for Elixir and their coated technology and I'm very satisfied with it. Now I can leave my guitars in their cases and rest assured knowing the string will be fine after 6, 7 months up to a year later! Sure it costs a little more (double of a regular price) but I find it to be a great value for the ocasional player who don't want to change string every week (if you sweat a lot in the hands it will be a great addition!!!).I also use it on the guitars I play regularly for almost 2 months without losing much tone (it sure can't last forever) and I think its excellent also for people starting to learn how to play because they'll have better strings for a longer time.BOTTOM LINE: If you play everyday and change strings every week, I don't it's a good investment. You better stick to the regular ones. But if you're an ocasional player, consider Elixir for your next set of strings.

I use these strings exclusively. I practice daily and perform 6 nights a week. A set of Elixir strings last me a month. Regular uncoated strings last a week, maybe.
