what an ax !!!!!
Recently my 1977 strat was stolen along w/ several other guitars from my home so.....as the story goes.I had always heard nothing but good about the Schecter guitars and after several months of bickering w/ my insurance agency,of which I won`t mention, I received my compensation check and decided the Schecter TSH-1 hollowbody was the one for me. It was love at 1st sight !! Talk about a beauty...WOW,what a sight to behold. "Silverburst" made my heart burst !!! and all this before I even held her $~).....didn`t take long before my love for her turned to LUST !!! She has all the action one man can take. It not only rivals my ole` Strat but beats her, hands down !! Do you think I`m satisfied ?? OH YEAH....over and over and over again.GOT ME A NEW GIRLFRIEND and saved a few hundred dollars off what she usually charges by buying thru Amazon ...LMAO !!!!

Neck Pickup Showed up broken
Was very excited about this guitar coming! Beautiful guitar, then I played it and the neck humbucker was rubbing against the strings because it was loose inside! I could move it in and out of the body of the guitar with my fingers! Am not impressed with the quality control!!!

This guitar plays and sounds great!
I had a chance to play this guitar through a class A 5 watt amp at a party jam. The guy who owned the guitar was from Germany and he was kind enough to let me play the guitar whilst he played some drums. Anyhow, the vintage look caught my eye, and the sound and playability of this instrument were really good. I looked at the guitar's physical appearance and the finished seemed perfect... very smooth transistion between the body finish and molding. The frets and neck had an excellent feel, quite nice fret work. The tone options with the split coil is a welcome feature. The humbucker tone was meaty, had great tone options, and had refreshing clarity and sustain. Of course the amp had a lot to do with the overall tone; nevertheless, the guitar's output was distinctive. I liked this guitar so much that I have researched it a little and wound up here posting a review.Another reviewer pointed out some apparently shoddy craftsmanship around the f-hole trim. While I did not notice this on the guitar I played, finish perfection can be a deal-breaker for some consumers. However, on the other hand, a finish imperfection in my opinon can be overlooked when other aspects of an instrument are so good. Oh, the hardshell molded case is of sturdy construction.I have considered this guitar as a substitute for a much higher-priced Rickenbacker model. I did play and sing some Beatle songs with this guitar and the vibe thing was really cool. Besides getting some compliments, which is always appreciated, I really enjoyed the sound and playability of the guitar which, I think, added to the performance quality. All in all, a really good guitar. Cheers.

A good guitar with a bad finish!!!
Today I tried out a red Schecter TSH-1 just like the one pictured here on Amazon. I was impressed with its sound, eye-catching retro looks and playability but the finish on this guitar was subpar! Around the soundhole where the white trim ends and the red color begins looked very rough and jagged; like it was done by an amateur painter! I also noticed paint under-bleed around the body trim as well. I pointed this out to an associate at Guitar Center and even he was surprised to see that. Here's my reason why I wont buy this guitar:I bought an Ibanez Artcore AF-75 hollowbody electric about 8 years ago for $350 (today the same model goes for about $400 but it's still cheaper then the Schecter TSH-1). I scrutinized every square inch of this guitar and the finish was 100% flawless....I'd pair it to the finish on a $3000 Gibson any day! Oh, and another thing, it's made in China. So then tell me why Schecter wants to charge me $550 for a similar guitar and get a crappy finish? Uhh...NO, I dont think so! The Schecter guitar was made in Korea so I figured that the quality would be superior to the Chinese Ibanez but I stand corrected! Funny thing...look closely at the red TSH-1 pictures here on Amazon and you'll see the the same poor finish quality I described here, especially around the soundhole!!! Apart from all of that the stick-on headstock logo looks a bit hokey as wellSchecter what's going on here!??, This is inexcusable and you get only 2 stars for this shoddy work! I really like this guitar but if you dont get your quality control tightened up I'll go elsewhere!

This guitar is my favorite rig. I've played better guitars (but not owned ...
I usually don't post to these kind of things, but I own this guitar and had to chime in about the finish basher. This guitar is my favorite rig. I've played better guitars (but not owned better). The guitars I'd put above this one that I've played are a 1960's Gibson 335, and another vintage signature series Johnny Smith Gibson (both valued at several grand). I've had strats, vintage tele's, Gibson hollow bodies, and tons of other gear, but none I couldn't let go of. I won't sell my Schecter. Having said all that, my TSH-1 is ugly. It's that vintage Gretsch orange color, and I hate it. I might paint it black. But I wouldn't trade it for a pile of pretty Ibanez artcores (I've played plenty, but none I'd give you a dime for). This guitar might not have the finish quality of an Ibanez Artcore, but it'll play circles around them.
