This arrives in a box fortified with cardboard on the interior. That's really nice since the box will retain its shape through its travels to you. And, when you remove this glass bottle from the box, you need to twist the top to be able to use the pump. This means there will be no accidental leaks during its travels. Such a smart idea on the manufacturer's part! Love this! Now, the product comes out in a moderate bits. This means that you will never accidentally use too much. And, it has a scent that seems consistent with the line: a little like a high-end masculine-coded cologne (but it is much quieter with this gel than the body wash). This dries down almost instantly! Skin just drinks it in! And skin is left super soft, super fast. This requires so little effort that it can be used in seconds. American Crew makes caring for skin as quick and effortless as possible. This is great for men who are just getting into the idea of skincare. Grab this collection for your boyfriend or husband ... or for yourself! It smells great, works wonderfully, and is so effortless! Highly, highly recommended!

American Crew ACUMEN Energizing Hydrating Face and Body Gel for Men, Non-Comedogenic Skincare Lotion for Smooth & Refreshed Skin- I like this facial gel quite a bit. I really hadn’t tried a product like this before. When I first saw the consistency and felt the texture I thought I had read it wrong because it is very reminiscent of hair products such as leave-in conditioner. However, I like that it’s not what you would consider a lotion. It absorbs far better than a lotion would. I don’t recommend putting it on immediately after shaving though as it does burn a little. Not any worse than aftershave does though. The scent is a little light but I do like it. There aren’t a ton of masculine skincare products at least in comparison to the more feminine smelling products. Pros- Absorbs quickly and hydrates well. Lightly scented but smells good. Great packaging. (Though the pump-style top could make it tricky to get the last bits of product out.) A little goes a long way. Light on my skin. Cons- If I had to pick something it’s that it’s a bit pricey. The quality did impress me though. Overall I really liked this product. I would reorder this one despite the price point. It’s something I use conservatively because of the cost though. I love how quickly it absorbs. My skin soaks it up and is moisturized after about 10 seconds or so. If I was to improve anything I wish the scent was stronger after using it.

American Crew Acumen Energizing Hydrating Gel is moisturizer for the face and neck, while the Acumen 24Hour Hand & Body Hydrator is a body moisturizer. The Energizing Hydrating Gel is a thinner milky gel type lotion. It has a pleasing texture that’s absorbed quickly and feels ultra light on my skin with no oily or greasy feeling. It adds noticeable hydration and leaves my skin soft with a matte finish and no sticky residue. The Energizing Hydrating Gel has a moderately strong masculine fragrance that smells like the Acumen 24Hour Hand & Body Hydrator, but it doesn’t seem quite as potent (maybe because so little is needed). I haven’t had an issue despite my sensitive skin and allergies. But I selected this with my 20-year-old son in mind and am cautiously holding off having him try it as his asthma and allergies are bad right now. This gel is alcohol free and has antioxidants, niacinamide and Ascorbyl Glucoside for brightening, panthenol and sodium hyaluronate for healing and hydration and more. Most ingredients look good, and the few that rate poorly are common: chemical fragrance is a respiratory irritant, exacerbates asthma and causes dermatitis; linalool is an allergen; and the preservative phenoxyethanol has allergy and toxicity issues. This is a good men’s face moisturizer, but the fragrance may trigger sensitivities. 4 stars.

The "ACUMEN" line has an amazing manly scent that is one of my all time favorites! Very masculine & long lasting aroma that permeates off of him after application. A daily face moisturizing gel that has been formulated with antioxidants to revive and renew even the most well-worn skin. A small amount of product goes far. Great absorbent solution that really does what it says it'll do. *Restores the skin's elasticity with the power of Ginger Root Extract. This ACUMEN Energizing Hydrating Face & Body Gel has a price point of $35.00 for a 1.7 fl. oz. bottle, like this one. I broke that down into per fl. oz. cost of $20.59. Honestly, it's well worth that! It's cost is a little more expensive than some other brands, but this product is among the PREMIUM lineup of products that American Crew offers. For a PREMIUM product, the cost is actually very affordable and lower than some other comparable PREMIUM products for men. Summing It Up—YES! Highly recommended by husband and wife! Really great PREMIUM product that works to give his skin a more youthful appearance by increasing elasticity & decreasing fine lines and wrinkles. SMELLS AMAZINGLY WONDERFUL!

American Crew's recent development of the ACUMEN line has resulted in quite the fine line of products designed for various aspects of skin care. This product, an energizing hydrating face and body gel designed for men, is a delightful addition to the line. This face and body gel maintains the usual American Crew design and packaging. It arrived in a nicely packaged amber brown bottle that helped to prevent breakage. The amber brown is preferred as the color/style helps to preserve the freshness of ingredients. You twist the cap, press the button, and a small amount of gel comes out. The bottle itself is relatively small, though American Crew packs an awful lot of quality into a small amount and it takes very little to do the job. The scent is rather light, especially for American Crew which tends to have stronger scents. The main ingredient of ginger root extract helps to restore elasticity. While I'm likely older than the typical American Crew target user, I like their products on my skin and I definitely see and feel a benefit with this gel. I've been exploring the American Crew line of products and I'm really quite happy with this one. It's easy to use and performs as advertised. I can definitely see it being part of my regular skin care regimen.

The item was advertised as a “American Crew Men's Moisturizing Gel and Essential Travel Kit with Shampoo, Shave Cream, Gel by American Crew Acumen”. There was no “travel kit” and I did not receive any shave cream, travel size shampoo. I only received a hydrating gel.

My husband was impressed with this line of American Crew products. I gave this to him as a stocking stuffer and he has been using it religiously for the last month. The consistency is a gel type moisturizer so it’s very cooling, but without the addition of any type of menthol which can be irritating to the skin. My husband sticks this in the fridge which makes it extra cooling on the skin and feels nice after a hot shower. It does feel a bit tacky on the skin initially like most gels do, but this disappears after and a few minutes and leaves skin hydrated. There is definitely a bit of a light fragrance so if sensitive to scents or fragrances, this may not be for you. A little goes a long way with this gel and I feel like it will last him a couple months with 2 x a day use. Packaging was great. This comes sealed up well with extra steps taken by manufacturer to avoid any sort of leakage from the top or breaking of the bottle. Overall recommend! My husband likes it so it’s a win!

A couple of small pumps is all that's needed to cover the entirety of the face. It's a light-medium cream and pleasantly scented with that familiar American Crew fragrance. Hydration results look good and provides a refreshed, natural appearance with no greasy/glossy finish. If you're mostly indoors the product holds up nicely through the entirety of a day.
