Awesome Sled and great base for a Captain America Shield
I now own 5 of these sleds, four black and one orange. I originally purchased two of the black sleds to be able to sled on my hill (I live in Cleveland Ohio and we get snow), and make the second into a Captain America Shield for a Christmas Gift. I got a few more to make a new shield and to have more to sled with. The Shield worked out great. The plastic isn't too hard to cut into with a Dremel or router. It is approx 3/8th of an inch thick so you can cut into it and not worry about going all the way through. You have 5 holes you need to patch to make the shield, 2 for each handle and 1 for the hole that punch in to allow you to hang up the sled when not in use. Check out Instructables for a few tutorials using this sled as a base if you want the fine details of creating your own shield.Sledding with them is awesome as they are thick enough that you don't feel the small bumps and lumps in the snow. They aren't flimsy or cheap. And they have a lifetime warranty on them. Some things to note. MH Sleds are made right here in the USA, California I believe. They only sell them through Amazon and they are the only seller, no third parties. Once Amazon receives them, they go from Currently Unavailable to in stock. This can be hit or miss. You can follow them on Facebook and they have updates on their page for when they become available. Their last shipment to Amazon was 360 sleds and they were down to just 10 of one color, purple, in less than 12 hours. If you see they are unavailable, check their Facebook page, or check back here occasionally. They will get more in stock soon.Amazon seems to have taken the feature to add pictures to a review away in the desktop version of their review pages or I would show the sled and the shield side by side. I reviewed the orange sled on my mobile phone with the same wording and it allowed the picture. Go figure. Anyway check it out here if you like Snow Sled Saucer Heavy Duty (Orange) .Now go buy an awesome sled.

Cannot break this sled! We've tried.
This sled is awesome! We build an ice run in our backyard every year and burn through many, many of the cheap $6 plastic sleds because they just break apart if you sit on them wrong or if there is a bump in the run. This indestructible sled has made hundreds of runs and still looks brand new on the bottom! We also have a larger fiberglass sled that has gotten worn out on the bottom so we put it on top of this one to make it work for "large" sledders and it hasn't let us down! The only thing that has happened was one of the handle straps came up on one side but we were able to fix it with a new bolt and nut.I wish they made one a little bigger in diameter for adults to use.Fastest sled on ice but a little slower than others on snow.

Great Heavy Duty Sled
This sled is really durable. The plastic is extremely thick and strong. You could probably use this thing to cover the opening to a bomb shelter if you have one.Every time it snows I tie 3 of these things together in a train using some rope and put each of my kids on one of them. Then I tie it to my tractor or ATV and drag them all around my yard. The first sled can take a pounding because it's pulling the weight of itself and the other two, but these hold up well. In the past I've broken a few sleds doing this, so it was important to get one that's strong, and this one fits the bill. To tie a rope to the back I wound up drilling a hold in both sides to put the rope through. That doesn't seem to have weakened it.If you're trying to do traditional down hill sliding wit this, I'm not sure how quick they will be. They're pretty well domed so your contact area with the ground is kinda small, and I wouldn't think it would be too fast. However you'd have no problem with the sled holding up. I don't care how heavy you are. On the other hand the sled is not very big and if you're a big heavy guy you'll probably have a tough time fitting onto it. I'm 6'0" 180b and I just about barely fit on it.All in all I'd say this is a good heavy duty sled. If that's what you're looking for you'll be happy. If you're looking for the fastest down hill sled, or a sled for your kid to go down hill with, you might want to look elsewhere.

looks like hard shelf wear
Heavy and quality sled (though they came a bit scuffed up and that is why they only got 4 out of 5 stars), looks like hard shelf wear. Hopefully they work well for the 8 to 10 year olds that will be using them. Definitely seem to be a well made USA made product.

This is the saucer you have been looking for!
AWESOME sled. VERY strong!!After going through two cheapy saucers with the kids this winter, I wanted something that would not have to be replaced.I'm 6', 240 lbs and this baby handles me just fine.My only complaint is that on our first time out we lost some of the hardware holding the handles on. The nice thing is that it seems like pretty standard stuff from the hardware store. If they'd have added some vinyl locking screws or something to their design this would totally have been a 5 star!------------------UpdateSnow melted and there in the grass, bright and shiny as the day we got them, was the handle hardware. Tightened extra tight with a screw driver and the sled is ready for action again come winter!!

MORE than worth the money
I really like how the bolted fabric handles don't tear or flex too much. This baby has taken all the abuse I can throw at it and asked for seconds, I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to buy a snow disc and not worry about having to replace it. Ever.It might need a polish on or shine the bottom every now and then to keep the nicks and scratches to a minimum, and a bit heavy for beginners, but this is the best snow disc I've ever used.Customer support from MH Sleds was very professional and punctual ironing out any issues I had.10/10
