No fancy colors but very reliable and fast.
Great all in one unit. I am a casual user. Sometimes I print 3-4 pages per week, sometimes 4-5 per month. I was sick of my Epson's ink jet cartridges drying up. What a hassle. Every time I would need to print something I would have to clean the nozzles, re align head..blah, blah and another 25 minutes later a color page would come out. Of course soon thereafter low ink warning because I used too much ink to clean nozzle. Threw the darn inkjet out and bought the black and white laser. This is great. No more fancy color but who cares? I can print within seconds. Install was easy but it is hard wired to computer. I haven't done the Wi-Fi yet. This fluctuates wildly in price. Local store had it for 99 dollars one day, the second for 189. Crazy. Bought it here cheaper. Quick update two years later. Still works, no issues but the toner situation is a bit of a rip off. Samsung has a chip built in its toner cartridge. As soon as it gets to 1000 pages regardless if there's more toner, it stops working. That's a bit infuriating and highway robbery. Toner isn't cheap but I am afraid to buy non Samsung. There's some hacks and work around the chip issue . Some people after they hack the chip, they drill a hole in it and add toner manually. Apparently works for some but that's too much drama. I guess I would do it if I used it a lot and needed a new cartridge every two weeks.

Greatest printer we have had!
The best printer I have ever had, in my entire life! We used to have a ink jet printer (Canon, HP and others) they have all failed me. The ink, for ink jets, cost more than the actually printer in value. One Toner cartridge, so far, has lasted me about 1 year! We print a good amount for business and home/school use. This laser printer by Samsung is perfect! And it has all the features you would want. Printer (of course), Copier (Both flatbed and tray if you have multiple pages), Scanner and Fax... if you still use Fax. Also, we have it network attached to our router, so that anyone on our network can print. It also has its own Wi-Fi printing capability. Works flawless! The software that comes with it, is amazing. It comes with the Samsung Easy Document creator software, very VERY useful. You can do a lot with it. And it comes with a ton of other useful software on the CD or download from the website. NOTE: If you plan on using Toner not made by Samsung, DO NOT update the firmware of this printer when you get it. It won't let you use them. I did that and the cartridges did not work. I stick with the original Samsung Toner cartridges now, because they last a very long time anyways.

WiFi dissatisfied
Read all the reviews on this, I was unable to get it set up to WiFi, but the set up was fast and simple. .... other than the WiFi. I was able to connect it my laptop and an older desktop but my newest desktop, it kept saying "can't find printer" even when I plugged it in USB. It just would not connect hard connect or WiFi. But it prints great and the scanner is so nice.

Overall, a great item
I did receive this few weeks ago, and so far I am happy with it. The printer is big but it is not that bigger than a regular samsung laser; the fax/copier contraption is right on top of the standard printer, so it doesn't look that bad. Fits nicely on a regular printer stand. Paper runs clean inside the printer, although I would prefer the approach of previous Samsung printers, where the paper goes in a drawer under the printer, instead than dangling from the open door in the front. It also look cleaner with the paper in a drawer and the trap door closed. Due to the scan/fax contraption on the top, the paper won't rest neatly in the body of the printer, but slide out from the front; forcing you to keep not only the bottom door open, to feed the printer, but also the top drawer, so the paper won't fall on the ground. It is a style issue; not functional, so if you don't care about how an item look, then you are good to go. Scanning works great; I didn't try the fax (and probably never will; we don't have home phone since a decade probably); drivers were easy to install on both OSX and Windows 10. The printer output is B/W but clear and very nice for text. Graphc wise forget about it; the black is not super black; the paper warp due to the heat and ink; and you can see stripes when the shade of grey is in a large area. Great for schematics and text, but if you need a graphic printer, forget about it. The toner is pretty big and is in the 10K pages range; so plenty to print, before the need for a new one. I did choose a laser B/W because I was tired of waste money for color cartridges; while I mostly print in B/W anyway. Here you won't need to spend 80 dollars every 400-600 pages, to replace your single color cartridges, and if you want just B/W, nobody will force you to buy also the color cartridge (or the printer won't work at all). As copier it is good too; I did use both the flatbed area and the top feeder and they both do their job. Scanning is pretty good and quick. The printer is wireless, so you can place it wherever you want. The configuration is painless, just remember that the keyboard of the printer is totally messed up, since when it ask you to input the wifi password for your network, it won't default to numbers but stay in "ABC1!" mode; so each pressure on the button will cycle through the 3 letters, 1 number and 1 special character that are set for each key (if you are over 30, you may remember that this is how people used to write SMS in the 80s and 90s). The printer goes automatically in standby, after few minutes; this is great since it will use virtaully no power; once awake, it takes 10 seconds to heat up and print; very efficient. Overall, a great item; I wish the quality was better for graphics, but can't complain due to the great price.

This printer was very easy to set up and no problems with wireless connection, download the Samsung mobile printing app to communicate with smartphone and tablet. I have not been able to scan a document, but have not dug into the problem yet.
